Shivamogga Subbanna, the primary Kannadiga to win a Nationwide Award for playback singing, died after struggling a coronary heart assault in Bengaluru

Nationwide award-winning Sugama Sangeetha singer Shivamogga Subbanna handed away right here on Thursday night time following a cardiac arrest. He was 83.

Mr. Subbanna grew to become in style with the rendering of songs written by Jnanpith Award-winning Kannada author Kuvempu. He grew to become a family title in Karnataka after he sang Baarisu Kannada Dindimava, written by Kuvempu.

He went on to obtain a nationwide award for the tune Kaadu Kudure Odi Banditta within the movie Kaadu Kudure. He was the primary Kannada playback singer to get a nationwide award.

He was additionally an advocate and a notary.

He’s survived by spouse, son, and daughter S. Bageshree, who’s Resident Editor of The Hindu, Karnataka.
